ＥＳＳＡＹ

　　We were enthusiastic about developing technologies, but had no idea what we were really doing with ourselves. People are still the people of your time. They haven't changed for more than 600 years. Our hearts need help.

　　We couldn't prevent our population from booming. The developed countries once pressured developing countries, especially China, to prevent the population growth. But they made the same mistakes as those developed countries did by focusing only on development of industry, but neglecting the environment.

　　Because of the industrialization, we are almost out of natural food. Food is now processed and manufactured in test tubes. Although we can create just about any food that you can think of in your time, it is from a test tube. We have preserved as many genes of plants and livestock as possible, so that we could clone them immediately. But this fact is highly classified by the government. Once we had an enormous global famine, the government decided to nationalize all the companies and professions related to any food and agriculture. Since then, people haven't been able to get any information about food. They make it and we eat it. I used to own one of the agricultural companies, and now I work for the government; they made me work for them after they nationalized my company.

　　However, the problem with the artificial food is that it was a new technology and we didn't have the time to test the manufactured food on humans. There seems to be no harmful effect on humans, because we eat foods made from perfect genes. But it has been reported in my department that it might effect the human body badly; a few people have already been hospitalized in some areas.

　　Again, thanks to the technology that we have, we don't have to worry about water shortages any more, either, because we've already invented the perfect filter that removes everything. At the time we invented this filter, people were excited, because everyone in the world could use water without worrying about any shortage or infection. We could have perfectly clean water for free and forever! But we now have a serious problem with a tremendous amount of filters; after they are used, they become very toxic. So far, we haven't been able to get enough places to dispose of it and technology can't compensate for this problem.

　　We used to have a major problem with energy. We couldn't invent any useful alternative technology for massive use; all of the alternative technologies could only produce a small amount of energy. There was a big debate among all the developed countries about how to invent an alternative energy that could produce a large amount of energy. Because of the tremendous power and energy of the sun, they wanted to find a technology for solar energy, but none of countries or group really attempted to achieve it.

　　Therefore, the conference finally decided to consign the right of the future energy to any institution that found the technology first. Just four months after the conference, one company developed the technology for solar energy.
We now use this alternative energy, what we call "Ericssun." One company, Ericsson, merged all of the companies relating to alternative technology into one. We do not have to worry about energy problems any more, because we have the energy from the sun, which lasts at least 3 billion years. Of course people don't care who's holding the technology or how much they pay as long as each of them can live. Now Ericsson is the biggest company in our history and will eventually dominate the world

　　Since we started to create chemical products, like plastic in your time, we developed technology so that we now have a machine that decomposes most of the waste that you had in your time. Our world seems much more ecological than your time.
But we are now having a major problem from the construction of this machine. When these are created, they produce a tremendous amount of toxic gas, which is highly dangerous to human beings and many species. The government has been hiding this situation, because we do not have an "alternative technology" other than this machine.

　　As you probably imagined in your time, some people do live in colonies in space. Before we started to live there, we fully used most of our land; we built countless buildings on deserts. But only rich people are living in the colonies; 99.87% of people are of a poor economical status. What is worse, around 90% of the people who live in the colonies have a connection or relationship to Ericsson. The government is also hiding this fact.

　　We have eliminated all of the diseases that existed in your time; cancer, AIDS, and so on. But because of the vaccine we've created, there are new kinds of viruses all around the world, again. We have been doing this for more than 500 years; creating vaccines that in turn gave the birth to new viruses. Even now, people do not realize that "we" are the virus, which creates the diseases. We all forgot how to die peacefully. We've been making a fruitless struggle against our mortality…

　　I must admit that technology is still important. But it is now almost impossible for us to communicate with people or deal with people through our heart since we have been focusing only on technological and logical side of the problem for more than 600 years. People still hate each other and even themselves. They think that the "future" technologies will solve all the problems. The "future" will never be a future as long as people don't reflect on themselves or their true feelings.
You should have an education, focusing on an emotion and our heart instead of focusing only on the scientific or logical side. Without this, you wouldn't solve any of the problems we have now. Do not let technology dominates the human existence. Technologies can only solve what we've already created. You have to focus on the cause of those problems, us.

　　We thought we were dealing with environmental problems and problems on this earth. But we should have realized that we have been dealing with ourselves.
